Senate

Mission

The Senate Model of the Republic was created with the purpose of training young people to lead with conviction, respect, and responsibility. Through debate and dialogue, we seek to cultivate an active and reflective citizenship that values truth, justice, and service to others. Inspired by biblical principles, we believe that a good leader not only speaks but also listens, builds bridges, and acts with love for the common good.

Vision

We aspire to consolidate an academic space where students recognize themselves as agents of change, capable of expressing themselves with solid arguments and firm principles. We want each edition of the model to reflect authentic leadership, guided by humility, empathy, and integrity, following the example of Jesus.

How will it work?

The Senate Model of the Republic is an academic and formative exercise that seeks to recreate the functioning of the Upper House of the Congress of Colombia: the Senate. Its objective is to encourage students' understanding of legislative power, democratic debate, consensus building, and critical analysis of public affairs in the national context. We will address topics of national interest such as labor reform, health reform, national security, the environment, and citizen participation, fostering active learning and students' social commitment.
